Happy New Year!

Hope all you out there who read and stay in touch will let me know you're reading this. I know I don't keep up very often, I'm going to try this new year.

We have had some news to catch you up on. I'll need to go back a bit and start in November.

Nov. 6th our daughter-in-law Nicole, graduated from nursing school with her RN! Lots of hard work and studying finally paid off. We went to Tampa along with Grand-ma and Aunt Margaret for the big day. Scott and Nicole also have become new home owners, they moved into thier two story house on Elm Street the end of July.

I was involved in a 2 day show the following weekend at the Westminster Academy in Ft. Lauderdale. They have been holding this craft show for over 30 years. I came home a bit dissappointed, so much hard work and not much in sales to show for it. I'm learning so much though.

We then had Thanksgiving to look forward to! We headed to SC on the Tues. before, drove thru the night and arrived at John and Donna's (Ken's brother and wife) EARLY Wed. morning. Had the pleasure of Bonnie bringing the kids over for the day to spend with us. We had a great visit with family.

December brought another opportunity for a second craft show, this time it was for Spanish River Church women's Christmas celebration. I went in with a whole different mind set, so I wasn't so dissappointed with the sales. It's not the best time for me to be starting this" Cottage Industry" as far as the economy, but it's exactly why I'm doing it. I feel I need to be using what God has given me to maybe earn a little income for our family. I also did a home show, another first. A dear friend invited me to bring my things to her home Bible Study group. Alot of fun, and another way to get my name and items out there. I think I'll publish this for now, there's more and some pictures too so please check back soon.

Something new for Christmas

Nightgown or PJ's
Something for boys too.

I'm still trying to figure out what might be my "big hit" This is my lastest idea and I've had two orders so far.

Fall Colors

Sometimes in South Florida the only place you see fall colors is in the fabric store. These are a few of what I've been working on.

Before and After in the Kitchen

This was the up date for our kitchen, Ken worked very hard. I love the way it all turned out.

I'm still here

I feel like I need to reintroduce myself. We have been busy, busy lately. I have been sewing like crazy. We did a small remodel project in our kitchen. We took Mackenzie to Orlando for a Taekwondo Tournament, last weekend. We'll be helping out at Kenzie's school Fall Festival on Saturday. She got her report card last week , we got 5 A's and 2 B's . 6th grade homework keeps us both on our toes. Next weekend we will be in Tampa for Nicole's graduation!!! She will finally have her RN. So that about sums up things around here, I probably left a few things out but you get the picture. Speaking of pictures, I'll be posting some pictures of some new things when I remember how . Hope you like what you see.

Pictures of the Open House- Finally

A few weekends ago I had my official first OPEN HOUSE introducing lil chicks.  Bonnie came into town to help me get my stuff all set up and support me.  We had a great time together.  She even made two more dresses while she was here.
I also had a GREAT support of friends that both helped and shopped out the sale.  This is a picture of my friends Diane and Sandy.  We have been friends for years, sewing and crafting together.  Diane is a big crafter brought some of her goodies over to the house to sell too.

Friday morning we both wanted to sleep in but neither of us could. I guess we were both to excited. We spent the morning setting up the house for the sale.  Everything looked really good together and filled up the house. the set up
I had little gift baskets made up with a childs apron and either kitchen, gardening, or artist goodies. My husband made the dress stands. they showed off the dresses so nicely.
We had hair bows, dresses, gift baskets, aprons, burp cloths, diaper bag tags and few other things. It was a ton of fun. I didnt sell to many of the little girl things, just because not many of the people that came had little girls to buy for.  So after the open house we packed everything up into a suit case for Bonnie to bring up to tennessee with her. She has lots of girl friends will young girls. She will have a little show there and try to sell some more dresses. I also have fall and christmas sales lined up at big crafts shows so I am looking forward to that.
